The Smash Mount Stubby is an excellent upgrade from the original Smash Mount phone mount. The Stubby allows me to utilize a bigger cup in the forward 4Runner cup holder…my coffee roadie fits nicely now and accesses easily. The Stubby is sturdy, flexible and an excellent phone mount for the 5th Gen 4Runner!!
Just installed and used it today...On road its solid does what its supposed to do. You di lose a cup holder and the design of the actual phone holder part is kinda dated but tried and trueSlight loss of leg room
Honestly if you made the lil cubby mount with a ball mount right off of it(I think another manufacturer already does this though..) but otherwise it's almost perfect as it. I LOVE that this mounts in that lil cubby slot. I was actually searching for something to screw or glue or whatever into that same area when I found this And with the inclusion of a metal ball on the V3 I highly recommend. The V2 was sturdy enough to keep my iphone 14 in place(not nearly as heavy as the pro max devices I know) After a while I wasn't thrilled with the location of my phone or the 30% loss in use of my front cupholder but it's just 3D printed plastic so I was able to make a few adjustments with a hacksaw, some fibertape, a little epoxy and magnetic holder that fits the 17mm ball.. doesn't look nearly as elegant as the original product...
Great fit.
Works just as advertised, very stable, has well designed width adjustment, and the padded cradle has just the right amount of grip, allowing our phones to slide in and out easily (one has a case, one does not) with absolutely no rattling around. This is an excellent product.

This is the best phone holder for a 5th Generation 4 Runner yet. It makes use of that small cubby hole on the dash that just normally gathers odds and ends. It is well made and looks bilt to last. I purchased the stubby version and its position works perfectly for me. It does not interfere with the shifter at all and it only barely interferes with the cup holder.
I like the use of the location and not on my vent or blocking my screen. I don’t like that I came put a normal sized drink or cup in the cup holder
That little cubby hole finally has a real use. Only downside is losing some height clearance for the driver-side cupholder but I can live with that vs my phone flying across the car because i turn a little too sharply and left the phone resting on the passenger seat.

perfect fit, solid. Cup holder I lost is now a small trash holder. A bit of a learning curve for my knee but over it. Highly recommend.
Good product and arrived as advertised. The only down side is the sacrifice of the front cup holder.
Phone holder don't fit my 24 4 runner limited
I’ve tried a couple other kinds of phone holders for my 5th gen 4Runner and this one is by far the best. It’s angled so you can still put something in the front cupholder and it doesn’t come over far enough to be in the way of your knee.

I really like this thing. I don’t like the vent holders for obvious reasons but this one drops my phone out of view from the rest of the world and it’s easier to make quick adjustments to the screen with my phone at a lower position.
